Malta is a small island south of Italy.

Ggantija Temples are 3600-3200 BC, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world.

Paul the Apostle was being taken to Rome in AD 60 to be tried but was shipwrecked on Malta where he was bitten by a snake.

Vitoria Lines were 12km of defences built by the British in the late 19th century.

Trapping song birds was banned in 2008.
